  • hey mommies,

for my one month old, i am looking for a soother. i exclusively breastfeed my baby.

so which soother is best for breastfed babies?
  • hi janettemom,

before my daughter was born, we bought philips avent soothie silicone pacifier for her. it is made of medical silicone, orthodontic, and it has a hole which makes it possible for the parents to help the little baby keeping the pacifier in her mouth. as in the picture below.

my daughter liked this pacifier but after 3 months, she started putting her finger in the hole. one day i noticed that she couldn't get her finger out as her finger was wet (babies put fingers in mouth) and it got stuck in the hole.

after that incident, we gave up using avent soothie and bought chicco naturalfit silicone pacifier which also has a hole but its hole is much bigger. it is orthodontic.

we still have this pacifier and my daughter is really happy with it. i recommend buying it.

by the way, i recommend silicone pacifiers and rubber ones. we used a natural rubber pacifier as well, yet it was so sticky that it collected all the dust particles on it. you have to wash natural rubber pacifier like 20 times a day.
